Personally, I'd just as soon watch the original version in French. 'Reading' movies has never bothered me. Foreign film makers have great work to present. The point of remaking what are already quality films into English Hollyweird versions is beyond my comprehension. Great examples: The recent plethora of Japanese horror films. rikes: your theory doesn't work out for several reasons:1. You're not going to scare a suicidal killer by the prospect of being shot at. Usually, they kill themselves anyway.2. The killer will be mentally prepared, the victims won't be. It's a rather big "switch" to go from regular boring office day to a full-blown shoot-out.3. Only 1 person got killed: even if you announced that there'd be a killer coming and everyone were psychologically prepared, still at least 1 person other than the killer would be killed.
