Is there any chance of another System Shock when Bioshock2 is done? Bioshock was a great game. But System Shock 2 is 12 years old and its atmosphere and advanced concept have never been seen since. If you liked Bioshock you really should try its daddy, System Shock2.

“Wrong. Taxing the rich has worked in virtually every single industrialized country. Hell, in FInland, your traffic ticket is based on your income, hence the story of Jari Bär, a millionaire, getting a ticket for USD $143K. Finland - a country going to hell right?People are motivated by income. Even if you are a millionaire taxed at 60%, and bring home $400K, you would still prefer to be that rather than making $500K, only taxed at 30% and bring home $350K. Going Galt is just about the most stupid thing I have ever heard.

http://nightskylive.net/software/apod/This program shows the picture of the day as your desktop, automatically changing every day. It also has the explanation which is pretty cool.Actually, I've been using this for the last year or so, with a changing desktop background every day..

It becomes legal when "The authorities' first suspect — a white man married to the daughter of the fire chief — failed a lie-detector test and was identified by more than one witness; his case was inexplicably dropped. Instead, Hrvol and Richter targeted two black teenagers whose only connection to the murder came from the testimony of a teenage boy who was arrested for stealing a car. The boy gave three alternate versions of the murder, admitted to lying on multiple occasions, and was allegedly pressured by Hrvol and Richter into naming Harrington and McGhee."?
I don't know what was better, the fact batman was drunk, or the article. Made me laugh so hard i almost cried. |

I think it's sound logic to not want to be murdered or to start riots in the Middle East or raise more animosity toward the West for a popcorn movie. Maybe if it was an art film, and even then, it still wouldn't really be worth it. You have to pick your battles. Would you really want people to die for a quick shot of a mosque being destroyed in a ***** Roland Emmerich movie?

I actually used to add a little sugar to my spaghetti sauce - a little sugar and a little cinnamon - but once I got carried away and put too much of both in, and all of my roommates at the time just mocked me for about a year over it.It was weird, but it wasn't really bad.

Assuming that carbon nanotubes will be the material of choice to eventually devise a way to make this cable, and since they are a semiconducting material, it seems to me that there would be a much better way to do this; this immensely long cable is going to generate huge amounts of static electricity (in fact nasa has purposefully done such experiments in orbit to show how electricity could be generated this way). There has to be some way to harness this charge to run motors that would power the payloads up and down, as well as to power ion rockets on the space-side anchor of the elevator to keep it on track and overcome the frictions that would otherwise pull it out of it's geosynchronous orbit such as wind and magnetic forces. Just a thought, but I'd really like to see more innovation that just trying to blast the platform upwards with a ridiculously expensive and energy consuming laser. |
