| Wow.First of all, someone needs hug.Second of all, humans are not tigers or gorillas. I dunno what 'cage' you speak of, but I know that I'm happy because I don't live in a cage, I live in a habitat that's suitable for me as a human. These tigers and gorillas and other animals that spend their lives in captivity are not meant to live like that. I don't "take off my clothes, go outside, and see how happy I am one I'm out of my cage" because that's not how I'm meant to live, are you? That's like shaving a gorilla, throwing it into an office building and telling it to survive and be happy. That being said, I know that these animals live longer sure, but like uptwolait said, they may not be as happy, but they live longer. Personally, I would choose to live a shorter, happier life than a longer, miserable one. Think about it, why would you want to be alive if you're just unhappy and unfulfilled? Again, I'm not saying these animals are being tortured, as you so eloquently put it, I'm just saying they're not meant to be living in captivity, and every now and then, there's one that you can tell isn't as happy as it would be in the wild, and I think it sucks to see that. What I'm getting from you is that our job as humans is to take care of the world. I agree with you, to an extent. It's our job to fix our mistakes, sure... but to say that nature is faulty when it comes to taking care of itself is just retarded. One more thing, 62 pi x 31 pi ?!? Are you kidding me? That picture you linked to isn't even suitable for an icon. |

At first blush I agree it seems like a fairly obvious question to ask but .... The census has pretty much one purpose, to determine the number of people living in an area as a basis for Congressional representation (and money).It's already federal law that representation is based on total people living in an area, not just US citizens. This includes *legal* residents as well btw. By asking citizenship status there's a very good chance you'd miss counting a significant number of people who'd refuse due to deportation fears. Put another way, the census is not designed to locate or identify individuals, it's designed to count, any question put in there that would cause people to refuse to answer ends up skewing the result needlessly. This ultimately punishes a state (one with significant illegal alien presence) for what is essentially a federal issue (border control).We already have fairly accurate estimates on the number of illegal aliens, asking in the census accomplishes very little. I personally don't care either way, just answering the question of why wouldn't you ask.

Keep in mind this is at least 6 months from release, probably more like a year. It will look way better than Halo 3 when it's released. Hell, ODST looked better than Halo 3 using the same engine...
