Maybe he means it won't have some stupidly contrived ending ala Independence Day where everyone unites at the end and miraculously comes out happy, healthy and smelling of roses. Except the phone carriers are regulated tightly, required to resell service to other businesses at wholesale, and offer competition to the cable companies. If the cable companies were regulated the same way, and brought to a level playing ground, I'd say this makes sense. They right now get an unfair advantage in the data/telecom world since they aren't regulated the same as a LEC...

The outside appearance of something has little to do with its functionality. Just because the iMac is square doesn't mean he stole the design from a television, and just because somewhere in the world someone made a rectangle with a circle in the bottom half of it doesn't mean they iPod is copied from that. I know you probably know this but you probably have taken a stance against apple because everyone likes it and you want to go against the grain to show how original you are, even though you probably have and iPod or some apple product.
