Companies dropping employees to bolster the bottom line is something we'll just have to learn to live with. I think they got the idea from an episode of the Addams Family, where Gomez had bought life insurance and the agent that sold him the policy was told to go back and get it nullified. When the agent got to the house he discovered Gomez had taken up skydiving. It seems Gomez had a theory that if every time he jumped he used a slightly smaller chute eventually he could ween himself off them completely and just jump without one. Amazing what one can learn from classic television.
what's with the cartoons ? how can you say a cartoon is out of its league ? ok and how about the parents from still standing ? he's an obnoxious lazy fat slob (also semi retarded), she's a smokin hot milf that's kinda trashy... damn near every show on tv has fallen back on this formula. smokin' hot babe who somehow ended up married to a moronic, lazy, 40+ pound overweight loser, and we're all expected to think it's adorable. I hate tv so much anymore.If it were a true male fantasy as others have said, there would be no kids, the women would rarely speak, and would be wearing little to no clothing... and they would have a banner at the bottom with sports scores.

A lot of people will be hurt by not getting the 8 hours of pay if it goes to 32 per week.
Someone can be a racist/murderer/whatever and still make amazing discoveries(I don't know the facts on Darwin's racism so I'm just saying that it wouldn't matter either way). It's not like Darwin wrote the book and they everybody said "Well of course he wrote it so that MUST be how it works." Thousands of people have verified parts of the theory in many hundreds of experiments, fossil discoveries and other means. He just got the ball rolling.!

The winds I can see being a problem but angular momentum shouldn't be. Correct me if I'm wrong here but don't you have to think of inertial frames of reference? Putting the object on the elevator puts that object in the elevator's inertial frame of reference.Also the space elevator should always be normal to the tangential component of the earth's surface without much of a problem once the counterweight has been accelerated to the necessary velocity in the geosynchronous orbit. All you have to do is maintain that speed with boosters or something. |
