“To a degree. You're sort of missing the point. This isn't an issue of blame here. That's not what I'm questioning. What I'm questioning is the absolute rush to ACTION on all fronts. That's what got us in this mess in the first place. Less alarmism, more understanding. I'd rather not ***** it all up all over again trying to solve the problem. That doesn't mean we shouldn't do some things that are obviously helpful. It's the rush to market these solutions that I have a problem with. Just don't think for a second that an Inconvenient Truth would have EVER been sold as it was if those folks had nothing to gain. Not that I have anything against folks getting paid, but then don't turn it into a crusade. Just be smart /shrug.And for record, thanks for actually replying before burying. Discussion is good, we need more of it ;P

If I am going to be given the ability to swing a sword as I please, I very much hope I am rewarded for choosing the most logical attacks. More damage if I jab a throat area than say a foot. However, the ai better be smart enough to anticipate where I may attack. It should block open body part that may cause it some real damage. If wii cannot do that than get rid of all the gimmicky waving the controller crap and just tell me which button to press.!

For the same reason Bush has completely stayed off the media radar since he left office: he just wants to be left alone. And that means he took the visit for no political brownie points, but because he felt it was the right thing to do. This was a class act. |

This was a terrific column, making a lot of sense, but I agree that the citation of the Gallup poll was misleading. Polls can be interpreted in many ways, depending on how questions are asked. Do conservatives outnumber liberals by a 2-1 margin? Doubtful. America is a centrist country. The great battle in any election is the 15 percent or so that swings one way or the other. |
