@s73v3r - What do you mean the money goes away every year if you don't use it. It's a savings account, period. I initiated HSA plans at my company almost 3 years ago, and have one personally. I suggest you do a bit of reading about HSA's before you go around spouting off complete garbage. Here's a direct passage from the wiki, "All deposits to an HSA become the property of the policyholder, regardless of the source of the deposit. Funds deposited but not withdrawn each year will carry over into the next year. If the policyholder ends their HSA-eligible insurance coverage, he or she loses eligibility to deposit further funds, but funds already in the HSA remain available for use."And here's the page from the Treasury Department, http://www.ustreas.gov/offices/public-affairs/hsa/ ...Frankly, an HSA is much more about what health insurance should be. It's asinine to pay into a plan, only to have every little office visit and band-aid submitted as a claim. HMO's destroyed health insurance. Just like most other forms of insurance, it should be there as a form of protection in case of a major event, just like home owners, auto, life, etc. It shouldn't be used every time you piss in a cup or get a splinter. This type of policy and mindset that has corrupted our health insurance and health care in this country..
